چکیده

Background: A known complication following autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI) for the repair of cartilage defects is graft hypertrophy. Although hypertrophic tissue can sometimes be asymptomatic, it may cause pain, catching, or effusion prompting a debridement operation—the most common reoperation. Indications: Second-look arthroscopy required symptomatic delaminated tissue. Technique Description: First, distinguished from surrounding Visually, has lighter white color than egg-shell-colored native cartilage. With probe, appreciated that also softer texture firmer Once identified, hypertrophy by extent raised margins Delamination seen visualizing separated strands on surface separation at margins. probe then used to gently assess delamination. After diagnosing delamination, shaver debride back so becomes flush with Special care must taken as not over-debride tissue, this subsequently lead recurrent defect. Results: Patients are expected have resolved and clicking sensations well graft-associated procedure. Discussion/Conclusion: Due incidence delamination ACI, second-look necessary evaluate possibly treat defect its repair. Improved outcomes with combined autologous chondrocyte implantation and patellofemoral osteotomy versus isolated autologous chondrocyte implantation.

PURPOSE To compare clinical outcomes of patients undergoing isolated patellofemoral autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI) and ACI combined with patellofemoral realignment. METHODS A systematic review was performed by use of PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines/checklist. We searched PubMed, CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied He...

A more recent technique, autolog...

Rehabilitation after autologous chondrocyte implantation in athletes.

Over the years a variety of cartilage restorative procedures have been developed for athletes to address focal, full-thickness cartilaginous defects in the knee joint, including microfracture, osteochondral autografts, osteochondral allografts, autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI), and most recently, next-generation ACI involving scaffolds or cell-seeded scaffolds. Since its introduction, ...
